Accounts by more than two dozen women accusing Bill Cosby of sexual misconduct, including charges that he drugged and raped them, have been bolstered by the comedian's admission under oath that he secretly gave women sedatives so he could have sex with them.
The confession came during a deposition in a sexual abuse lawsuit that Cosby settled in 2005. A federal judge unsealed the transcript Monday over the objection of Cosby's lawyer.
Cosby, now 77, admitted that he gave quaaludes to at least one woman and "other people," according to the transcript obtained by Associated Press.
"When you got the quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?" plaintiff's lawyer Dolores Troiani asked.
"Yes," Cosby replied.
Criminal charges against Cosby are not possible since the allegations are decades old, some dating back to the late 1960s. Three women are suing him in Massachusetts for defamation, stemming from statements made by his publicist discrediting the women's stories.
